Tania Cowling
Tania Kourempis Cowling is a former early childhood teacher, a published author of three teacher resource books (Shake, Tap, and Play a Merry Tune, Crafts for All Seasons, and Cooking With Kids all published by Fearon Teacher Aids), and freelance writer. She has published many articles online and in regional parenting magazines across the country. Tania has also written lesson plans in early childhood teacher periodicals.
In the early '90's, Tania developed a music program for the children in the Developmental Preschool at Florida International University (North Miami Campus). With the help of the children's input and some experimenting in the music class, led Tania to her first book, Shake, Tap, and Play a Merry Tune. Children love to make noise (of course to them it's music) and with recycled materials, the youngsters made rather fine musical instruments.
Tania's years of experience has given her the tools to help parents, teachers, and child care providers to make learning fun. Through play, children learn about their world. Tania's articles will give you loads of activities to foster these skills.
